David Haney retired from full-time accounting in June 2017.  He had specialized in tax planning and compliance, small business consulting, and business valuation services.  Other areas of concentration included litigation support and succession planning in addition to his role in managing the firm.

David is a native of Delaware County, Indiana.  He earned his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in 1973 and a Master of Arts degree in accounting at Ball State University in 1983.  David joined Lance Estep, CPA, in 1979 at the formation of the company and has served on the executive board of directors for over 30 years.  He served as President and CEO of Estep-Doctor & Company from Lance's retirement through 2016.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, David also carries the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst.  There are only a few CVAs in this part of Indiana, of which three are right here with Estep-Doctor & Company.

Professionally, David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

David has served as the treasurer of the Delaware County Sports Heritage Foundation for over 20 years.  In 2000, he was inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame.

David and his wife, Denise, reside in Muncie.  They enjoy golf, travel, and spending time with their children, grandchildren, other family, and friends.
